BYU 41 Northern Iowa 17

Well, BYU came out and played a good game. Overall they looked really solid except for the 3rd quarter where they slacked off and had four turnovers! Otherwise, they played great. I think they will fix their mistakes and come out strong against Washington next Saturday and pull off another win.

BYU also has the nation's current longest winning streak with 11 consecutive wins! Go BYU!

BYU Football is here!

BYU is ranked #16 as their season opens up tomorrow (technically today since it is 12:20am) against Northern Iowa at 4pm MST. They will most likely cream them. I'm really looking forward to it!

Goodbye Odyssey, Hello Civic!!

So back in April we bought a 2003 Honda Odyssey with the expectation that we would be having more kids within the next year or so. Well now Danielle is gone and I had the minivan (which I never wanted) and is way too big for just me and the two kids. So I got rid of it and got a 2002 Honda Civic. It only has 46,000 miles on it! It feels like it is brand new inside and out, and it rides very smoothly. So it is a lot smaller and instead of getting about 12-15 mpg in the minivan, I now get about 30 mpg around town in the Civic! This is more my type of car. I have now owned three Civics and overall I have had 5 different Honda vehicles!

Here was the minivan

and here is the Civic

Scorpion!

About two days before actually leaving St. George I went outside in the evening to grab a couple boxes out of the car. On my way back inside, just a few inches from the front door was a big ol' scorpion! My neighbors saw it also and ended up knocking it down into a pot. Here's a great pic I got of it.

The next day I bumped into my neighbor and asked him what he did with it. He said they froze it!

Time is flying by

I can't believe how fast the last week and a half went by! Last Thursday my mom came into St. George to help me with the move and then left on Wednesday. We were up at about 8am every day and didn't get to bed until about 1am or 2am every night. I had tremendous help from a few people in my last ward to help me load up the moving van. We left Saturday afternoon and got to my new place in Springville around 5pm on Saturday.

Brent and Meagan had spent hours and hours cleaning the place before I got there. That was such a great help! If it weren't for them I probably would have just died. So they arranged a nice little get together with some people in the ward to help unload the moving truck and then we had hot dogs and other bbq type food. I am so greatful to everybody that helped out, I can't explain it. Since then, everything is a big blur....it all clumps together as unpacking....nonstop.

I've had to run to home depot and walmart so many times in the last few days I think I have my own check out lane with a personal cashier!

Anyway, here are a few pics of the move.

Busy Moving

So, life has been super busy lately. I was up until 4am last night packing and cleaning. Today I got up early to go to work and I feel like a zombie with a massive headache. Tomorrow I work and then have 3 hours of class on divorce education that I have to go to (I am required to do it within 30 days of when the divorce was filed). Then on Thursday my mom will be in town to help me with the move on Friday/Saturday and getting settled into my new place. Hopefully then things will calm down a little before I start school a week later.

For those who are curious or have been talked to about my situation, don't worry. I'm ok and i'm getting by, one day at a time. I have one semester of craziness and then I have a great job lined up for when I graduate in December. I was quick to tackle the situation at hand and feel like things are pretty well taken care of. Emotionally, this whole thing is really hard, which is to be expected. Nobody could go through this and not have a hard time, but, I feel like I am doing quite well with it all.

So, if I don't post much (or anything) over the next few days its just because I am moving and just too busy.

Carter enjoying his cereal

Here are a couple random pics of Carter as he was munching on his breakfast.

It's not raining outside

So yesterday Alexis asked if she could play with her little princess umbrella (as she does several times throughout the day). I told her no and that it's not to play with inside and that it wasn't raining outside. So she went down the hall and put on some big yellow rain boots and put on a hoody. She came out and asked if she could have her umbrella. I repeated myself and she pointed out the big sliding glass door and said that it was raining. It was over 100 degrees outside and not a cloud in the sky. I said, "It's not raining." In her little voice she said, "Ya, it is a little bit." I confirmed again that it wasn't. So she said "Let me see" and walked right up to the door and said that it was "raining a tiny bit". She cracked me up. So here's the pic. Unfortunately, I didn't get the big rain boots in the pic.

Look at these kids!

Ever since these pics were taken this morning I have been dying to post them up for the whole world to see! Aren't they the cutest kids you have ever seen?!

This was just before going to church and the first time that Carter has worn a white shirt and tie! Alexis reached out to grab his hand right as I took the picture without me trying to get them to pose.

Alexis wanted to take a picture as soon as she saw the camera. I would have to say she's a natural! Notice how she lined us up perfectly in the middle of the picture....

Here's a more casual pic of them as they were anxiously waiting at the door to leave for church.
